Soon, the disabled all over the country will find it easier to board trains as a special ramp and wheelchair has been specially designed for them to make trains more accessible. Last week, the Guntur-Vikarabad Palnadu Express got a portable ramp and wheelchair.
Manufactured by Callidai Motor Works, the ramp is specially designed to fit into the entrance of any coach. The wheelchairs are also made to fit the size of coaches, giving the user the freedom to enter any coach. Following the lead of the Guntur division, several divisions of Railway have expressed interest in using the mechanism.
