As part of the Musi River revitalization project in Hyderabad, an incredible idea is being developed to erect the tallest statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the world at Bapu Ghat. Under the direction of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, this enormous project seeks to establish a symbol of peace, unity, and education in addition to honoring Gandhi's legacy. Bapu Ghat is intended to become a space where individuals can consider Gandhi's teachings and further the ideals of peace and fraternity.
Officials are researching well-known sculptures of Mahatma Gandhi around the world in order to get ready for this endeavor. The 72-foot bronze monument of Gandhi in Gandhi Maidan in Patna, which was constructed in 2013, is now the tallest Gandhi statue. A 22-foot bronze statue of Gandhi in a contemplative stance was also erected in Hyderabad in 1999. Although this statue is still the biggest in Telangana, a larger monument to Gandhi might soon join it.
The Chief Minister wants to hold extensive talks about whether Gandhi should be depicted walking or sitting in a meditative pose in the proposed statue. The administration would consider recommendations from representatives of the people, leaders of all parties, and intellectuals from all backgrounds.
The government is considering a variety of ideas for the new statue, including ones that show Gandhi either walking or in a serene, contemplative attitude. To guarantee that this significant statue accurately embodies Gandhi's legacy, Chief Minister Reddy has solicited opinions and recommendations from the general public, scholars, and community leaders.

This candid approach demonstrates that the statue will stand for a common understanding of Gandhi's principles. The statue is only one part of the project. The installation of sewage treatment plants is the first step in a bigger plan to revitalize the Musi River, which is expected to cost 7,000 crore. Plans are also underway to construct a bridge barrage at Bapu Ghat and redirect water from Gandipet to the Musi River. The project's initial phase will improve the riverside between Gandipet and Bapu Ghat, where the Musa and Esa rivers converge to form Gandhi Sarovar.
The establishment of a Gandhi Ashram at Bapu Ghat is a key component of this concept. With an emphasis on education, this center will provide classes in communication, ethics, and values that are influenced by Gandhi's ideas. Making Bapu Ghat a learning environment where people may interact with Gandhi's teachings on peace and moral behavior is the aim.
There is more to this enormous undertaking than a statue. It seeks to commemorate Gandhi, restore the Musi River, establish a serene and instructive area at Bapu Ghat, and further the ideals of peace and harmony. When this project is finished, it will undoubtedly become a significant cultural and spiritual landmark that will inspire tourists from all over the world and serve as a constant reminder of the principles Gandhi upheld.
