Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini reached Cape Horn, its designated point on Friday morning and its all women crew hoisted the tricolor to mark their accomplishment.
The sea was rough with strong gusting winds, yet the women successfully sailed through. Earlier this month crew had to battle surging waves and downpours, but the team headed by lieutenant commander Vartika Joshi fought all odds.
The vessel is on a circumnavigation journey of 22,100-nautical miles and will return to Goa in April 2018, upon completion of the voyage.
