Passengers traveling from Kochi to Bengaluru have reason to celebrate. Starting July 31, Indian Railways has launched its third Vande Bharat train for Kerala. This fast train will operate on the Ernakulam–Bengaluru route three times a week. Riders can expect a smooth and enjoyable journey on the Vande Bharat train. In February 2019, India took a big step forward in rail technology by rolling out indigenous semi-high-speed trains. These trains first called Train 18 during production, got the name Vande Bharat Express when they hit the tracks. Vande Bharat trains can reach top speeds of 180 km/h but often run at 130 km/h because of track limits. They can hit top speed on certain parts of each route. This means that even though the trains can speed up and slow down, they don't average very high speeds overall.
