Following an arduous and protracted fight, 23-year-old Dr. Ganesh Baraiya is currently an intern at Bhavnagar Medical College, having recently completed his MBBS degree. For the three-foot-tall man to eventually realize his ambition, he had to overcome many obstacles. He faced several obstacles on his path to becoming a doctor, including being turned down for entrance to medical school due to his dwarfism. Despite being barred from pursuing an MBBS degree a few years ago by the Medical Council of India, the young man remained motivated and did not give up easily. With the support of his principal, Dr. Dalpath Bhai Katariya, they went to the state education minister and the district collector before finally knocking on the doors of the Gujarat High Court, determined to fight back.
A Sneak Peek Into His Background ~
His mother Devuben encouraged him to pursue his ambition of being a doctor. He was up in the tiny village of Gorkhi in the Bhavnagar district. According to TOI, he was raised by a farmer and has eight siblings, seven of whom are married and did not complete their education above class 10. Baraiya had to stretch to examine his patients because he was only 18 kilograms and 3 feet tall, making it difficult for him to reach the height of the hospital bed. The Gujarat government and two others claimed this as the cause for the denial of entry. But with his steadfast will and excellent academic record, Baraiya battled back. They reached the Supreme Court with the support of his principal, Katariya, who provided funding for the legal fight. Furthermore, the Supreme Court decided in the students' favor. Citing the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the court-mandated in 2018 that the government allow entry. The three-foot-tall young man has finally finished his MBBS degree after a protracted fight. His current goal is to become a dermatologist. "Due to a less demanding workload, I intend to choose dermatology," he stated. Regarding the difficulties he faces every day as a result of his height, Dr. Baraiya stated that although the patients at first disapproved of him due to his height, they eventually warmed up to him and welcomed him.
Baraiya, a medical intern, never stops inspiring people with his unrelenting dedication.
Takeaway From this success story:
Be Appreciative ~
~ There will be days when the route is obstructed and obscured by doubt. You'll experience disorientation,
There will be clean paths on other days. You'll proceed with confidence. Everything will seem natural,
The capacity to keep focused on the path even on the darkest days separates those who succeed from those who fail,
All that has to be done is "keep going, keep going what come may." It will lead someplace eventually.
Concentrate on little adjustments ~
Avoid creating mental mountains. Don't attempt to take over the entire globe at once. Seeking huge, rapid cures (immediate pleasure) leads to needless suffering and frustration in life. Rather, you ought to view every instant as a chance to invest a small but constructive amount of yourself; the benefits will follow. This is because there are many small things you can easily correct while everything else in your life is collapsing. But when things are going well, it's simple to get into a rut of complacency. It's simple to underestimate your extraordinary capacity and ingenuity.
Stay On Your Path~
We are always constructing our road, and the more we go along this particular path, the more difficult it may become for us to comprehend, much less convey to others. When faced with fear, instability, or confusion, we naturally want to seek something comfortable. Probably not the best prospect we can imagine and probably not our route is that which is known to us.
Often, success is a result of following our course. Because of myths that suggest decent people cannot succeed, we either reject the things that may help us blissfully continue on the route or we believe the path we are on is erroneous. Here in an above-discussed success story, standing at just 3 feet 4 inches tall, Ganesh has overcome numerous challenges to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. Despite facing obstacles due to his dwarfism, Ganesh overcame challenges to complete his MBBS degree.
Looking at the Big Picture and Never Losing Your Purpose ~
Discouragement is a negative emotion with more than one trick up its dark sleeve. It could trick Dr. Ganesh into mentally or emotionally dwelling in the very place he would want to leave. But he dropped all such sorrow permanently by daring to see through this deception of his unconscious mind. He always had a destination far beyond where he finds himself standing today! Ending this article in his words on his everyday challenges owing to his height, Dr Baraiya said '' though patients judge him for his height initially, they get comfortable over time and accept him as their doctor. Whenever patients see me they are a bit startled at first but then they accept me and I also accept their initial behavior. They behave with me cordially and with positivity. They become happy as well.''
