Indian table tennis has found its newest teenage sensation. At just 15 years of age, Divyanshi Bhowmick delivered a fearless and historic performance to become the youngest Indian woman ever to win WTT Feeder Women’s Singles title.
Competing in Prishtina, the young Indian star defeated Chinese Taipei’s Yeh Yi-Tian, the World No. 38, in a thrilling five-game final to script one of the biggest victories of her career. Ranked World No. 211 herself, Divyanshi showed extraordinary composure, resilience, and maturity far beyond her years.
After losing the opening game, the teenager mounted a sensational comeback to clinch the final 3-2 (8-11, 11-8, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7), leaving fans and experts amazed by her fearless attacking play.
Divyanshi’s triumph has now etched her name into Indian table tennis history books. She is officially the youngest Indian woman to win a WTT Feeder Women’s Singles title, a remarkable feat considering the intense level of competition on the international circuit.
What makes the achievement even more extraordinary is her place on the global stage. At 15, Divyanshi is believed to be the second-youngest player in the world after Japanese prodigy Miwa Harimoto to capture a Women’s Singles title on the WTT Feeder circuit.
The title run showcased her ability to compete against experienced international opponents without fear. Throughout the tournament, she defeated several higher-ranked players with remarkable consistency, confidence, and tactical intelligence.
The final itself perfectly captured Divyanshi’s fighting spirit. After dropping the first game 8-11, she quickly regained control with aggressive returns and sharp placement. She dominated the third game 11-5 before facing another setback in the fourth. But instead of losing momentum, the teenager responded with remarkable calmness in the decider. Point after point, Divyanshi showed maturity under pressure, eventually sealing the historic victory 11-7 in the fifth game.
As if the singles title was not enough, Divyanshi added another golden chapter to her campaign by winning the Women’s Doubles title alongside fellow Indian teenager Syndrela Das. The Indian duo defeated Japan’s Sachi Aoki and Cocona Muramatsu in another thrilling five-game final. After losing the opening game, the pair fought back brilliantly to secure a 3-2 (7-11, 14-12, 12-14, 11-8, 11-7) victory.
The intense contest lasted just over 30 minutes and showcased the pair’s resilience, teamwork, and ability to perform under pressure.
Divyanshi Bhowmick’s incredible week in Prishtina may well be remembered as the beginning of something special. At an age when most teenagers are still learning the basics of international competition, Divyanshi has already defeated elite opponents, created national history, and announced herself as one of the brightest young talents in world table tennis.
