At just 10 years old, Sagili Darshini has proven her mettle in the competitive world of archery, capturing the nation's attention with her exceptional skills and determination. Hailing from Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, this budding archer has achieved a remarkable feat by securing eight gold medals in both state and national-level competitions.
Despite her young age, Darshini has showcased immense talent and dedication in her pursuit of archery. Balancing her passion with her studies as a fourth-grade student in a private school, she has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to the sport.
Recognizing her potential, Darshini's father, S Amarnath, enrolled her in the Vijayas Archery Academy, led by renowned archery coach Vibhakar Uday Kumar. The academy, known for producing world-class archers since 2013, has nurtured Darshini's skills and honed her abilities. Her coach, Chenna Keshava, describes her as a gifted child who can shoot 100 arrows within a span of just seven minutes.
Over the past two years, Darshini has consistently showcased her mettle by securing gold medals in various competitions. From state-level under-10 and under-14 championships to national-level tournaments in Bhopal, she has left a mark in the archery community. In addition, she also clinched a gold medal in the National Field Indoor Archery competitions in Raigarh in March 2022.
With her eyes set on international championships and dreams of bringing fame to the nation, Darshini aspires to become an Olympic champion one day. Her remarkable achievements at such a young age have ignited hope and admiration, leaving many wondering if she will be the next archery sensation to represent India on the global stage.
